Privacy Policy

The short version

• There are no accounts, no sign-up forms and no quote-request forms on this site.
• Calculator inputs (treatment type, insurance, financing length, location) are processed in your browser and are never sent to us.
• We use Google Analytics to understand, in aggregate, which pages are useful. It sets cookies.
• We do not sell personal information, and we do not show third-party advertising.

Information we collect

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google. It collects information such as the pages you view, the approximate region you are visiting from (derived from your IP address, which Google does not store in full), your browser and device type, the site that referred you, and how long you stay. It uses first-party cookies (for example _ga) to tell one visit from another. We have configured Google's consent settings so that advertising storage, advertising user data and ad personalisation are denied; the data is used for site measurement only.

Hosting and security logs

The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical request data — IP address, requested URL, time, and browser user-agent — to deliver pages and to protect the site against abuse. We do not combine these logs with any other information to identify you.

Email you send us

If you email us at hello@checkdentalcost.com, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. We use it only to reply and to correct our content. Please do not send health records or other sensitive personal information.

Information we do not collect

• We do not collect health, dental or insurance records.
• We do not collect payment information. Nothing is sold on this site.
• Fonts and stylesheets are served from our own domain, so loading a page does not contact a third-party font service.

How we use information

Aggregated analytics help us decide which guides to improve, which locations to add, and whether pages load properly. We do not use it to build profiles of individual visitors, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who we share information with

We share information only with the service providers that operate the site on our behalf: Google (analytics) and Cloudflare (hosting and security). Both may process data in the United States and other countries. We may disclose information if required to do so by law. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

Your choices

• Opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on, or by blocking or deleting cookies in your browser settings. The site works normally without them.
• Ask about your information. Email us and we will tell you what, if anything, we hold about you, and correct or delete it. Because we do not run accounts, this is usually limited to emails you have sent us.

Residents of Canada

Under PIPEDA and applicable provincial laws, including Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25), you may request access to, and correction or deletion of, personal information we hold about you, and you may withdraw consent to its use. Our service providers may process information outside your province and outside Canada. Send privacy questions and requests to the address below.

Residents of California and other US states

State privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act, give residents the right to know what personal information is collected, to request its deletion or correction, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined, and we will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.

Children

This site is written for adults planning dental treatment for themselves or their families. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Retention

Google Analytics data is retained for the period configured in our Google Analytics property, after which Google deletes it automatically. Emails are kept only as long as needed to respond and to keep a record of corrections.

Changes to this policy

If our practices change — for example, if we add a form or a new service provider — we will update this page and the date above before the change takes effect.
